Can a PG9936 be configure to also sound as a siren during a security alarm event?

Yes, and as of firmware 4.4.0 PowerG Smokes can sound different cadences for Intrusion, CO, or Fire when using the “PowerG Smoke Detector Siren” option as additional sounders.

Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer Code > Installation > Siren and Alarms. Scroll down to PowerG Smoke Detector Siren and select All Alarms.

Can you select individual PowerG smokes to sound different cadences – or do you have to choose all or none of them?

This is a setting you set on the panel and not per individual sensor so you could select either Fire only or all alarms and this would apply to all PG9936 smokes.
