PG9901 issues

Hi I’ve just received a PG9901 and after pressing the test button the lights light up in the following order Red, Green, White. But no audible siren test sound. FYI the device has not been enrolled or attached to any system. Is this normal for the to be no test siren sound when pressing Test? Thank you

Has the siren been learned into the panel already? Can you try testing it by activating the alarm on the panel? Make sure your account is on test if it is being monitored.

Thank you but do I need to connect the siren just to perform an audible test? I thought the test button would allow me to test just the device with sound?

Bumping this topic again as the original question was not directly addressed regarding siren functionality and instead instructed me to connect the siren to the alarm panel to perform an audible test. I need to know whether I need to return this siren for being defective due to no sound when pressing ‘Test’.

Qolsys suggests learning it first, then running a test from the panel. I reached out to them for confirmation and they stated that unless the device is fully enrolled and commanded by the panel, the self‑test button primarily cycles the LED indicators and confirms enrollment/power.

They recommend enrolling the siren into the panel, then run a bell test from the panel menu. This will force the siren to sound.

If the siren still doesn’t produce audio during a panel‑initiated test, then the piezo or driver has failed.
