Got a low battery warning on the motion sensor this morning, then several more of the same, dozens. Then got several battery warnings on a door sensor then dozens that it was OK. Went to replace the motion battery and got a handful of sequential tamper warnings as expected but the tamper didn’t clear once the cover was back on, nor did the low battery alert. Received hundreds of notifications over the course of thirty minutes or so. I went to the panel (IQ 2+ Panel) to reboot it and it hung rebooting, just sat on the shutting down screen for several minutes. Now the panel has the screen backlight on with a black screen and the arm/disarm led on the right is flashing green. Holding down the button on the side eventually leads to a red/amber/green flashing led that goes back to flashing green once the button is released. Any ideas what is going on?
Did you perform the reboot from the settings or by removing power and the battery?
Could you try doing a power down of the panel by removing power to the panel, then the battery and leaving it powered down for about 20-30 min.
Pulled power and unplugged the battery from the board for 20 minutes. Comes back to flashing green LED again after a few seconds of power being applied again. Should adding power back via wall or battery first matter when powering back up? It’s all disconnected again now.
I would connect the battery first but if it continues to have the blinking green light, then I believe it is a hardware failure. Unfortunately, replacing the panel would be the only solution.
The IQ Panel 2+ was discontinued some time ago. The IQ Panel 4 with the 345mhz receiver (IQP4003) would be a direct replacement for your system.
There is a panel backup from December 4th that can be applied to the new panel if you’d like so you don’t have to learn in all the security sensors again. This doesn’t apply for Z-Wave devices as they would need to be learned in again.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
If have to do another panel replacement does the Panel 4 allow me to use the working remote panel I have, or would that have to be replaced to a “4” version as well?
The IQ Remote like the one below would also work on the IQ Panel 4
Ordered a new panel this evening. The Dec backup should be fine, no equipment changes since then. Also, can you fix the service subscription? Looks like ordering the new panel forced a change from Home to Complete, would like to continue with the Home plan.
The new panel does not change your current subscription, panel purchases come with a free month of service, but if you are buying an upgrade we will cancel that new subscription and apply the free month to your current service instead.
