Panel disconect notice overnight, can't control remotely

Hi, I have an older Control4 system with a cell modem. Got a notice early this morning that my panel connection had been not responding since my automation armed it the previous night.

Now any remote action seems to fail/timeout regardless of the user trying it, but local actions at the in-house panels work, and the remote system/portal seems to be out of sync. Given the communication error in the wee hours, maybe it needs to be hard reset? Open to all ideas. I presume there’s nothing odd that you see in the backend anywhere? Is the best way to hard reset these older systems to unplug the backup bat and kill the breaker?

I did look into the communication for your panel. I noticed that the last signal strength update of one bar out of 6 was sent at 4:13AM CDT on 6/11/2025. Before this, it was constantly getting 3 bars and sometimes dropping to 2 bars. 2 bars is the minimum required to function properly.

A power cycle could help with the cell connecting to the towers again. Unplug the security panel transformer(or the breaker) and then unplug the battery and wait about 2 minutes. Then connect the battery first then plug the transformer(or turn on the breaker).

Did you install any new appliances near the cellular communicator or any new devices that could affect wireless signals?

Hey thanks for the reply and the visibility on not having as many bars. I think Verizon is struggling in our area too which is contributing. Will see how they progress and then try the reset.
