Hello, new to Alarm.com and Qolsys hardware-
Is it possible to have the IQ Panel 4 make a softer alarm or alert when a door is left open? Using in a business context where I don’t want doors propped open.
I’m not aware of a way to do that in Alarm.com & Qolsys. Alarm.com has a Door Left Open notification but it’s just a push, email, or text notification. It doesn’t make the panel do anything. If you’re happy just being notified on your phone, that would work.
If you could find a way to make something beep based on an email notification you could use the notification as well.
I’m currently working on a project that would enable you to do more advanced automations like this that Alarm.com doesn’t support, using an open source automation tool called Node-RED. Hopefully I’ll be ready to share that soon.
There are also stand-alone door buzzers that can be programmed to buzz when the door is left open.
