So I bought a new panel IQ 4 since my old IQ panel 2 completely died and won’t turn on. I’m having trouble excluding and including a honeywell ZW3010 dimmer switch that is wired 3-way for my kitchen lights. I’ve tried 3 pushes on 3-pushes off and also two on and hold for 10seconds and i’m getting no indication of factory rest or ready to include led light. This switch worked fine on the IQ panel 2 before? This is the first switch i’ve tried to pair and have a bunch more to do so i’m frustrated already. Also I’ve tried the new panel in wizard mode and manual mode, no recognition.
It looks like the current firmware on the IQ Panel is 4.4.1. Can you try updating to the latest 4.6.1 firmware?
Can you also try turning off the switch by pulling the tab on the bottom for about 30 seconds. Then set the panel to exclusion and try again and press the top paddle one time. If it fails, try pressing the bottom paddle one time.
If nothing happens, try setting the panel to inclusion and try again.
Is this the only device you are having issues with? Were you able to learn in another device of the same model?
doing the update now. No this is the first switch of it’s kind. Already paired other devices though. Once updated I will try what you said, thank you!
So nothing I do is pairing any of my switches, I have honeywell, Eaton, GE, EVO Logix brands and none of them are pairing. I think it’s because they are still included on the old IQ 2 panel? Unable to get them factory reset? Frustrating…
Do you guys have tech’s that make house calls or just online?

Z-Wave devices store Z-Wave network information on them. If they were previously associated with another system they will need to be Cleared from the network first before they can be added. For Each Z-Wave Device being added from the old panel:
- Clear the device
- Pair the device
Once all devices are paired and they are in their installation points (including the panel) run a Z-Wave Network Rediscovery.
Additionally, distance can be a factor for communication. You may need to bring the panel closer to the switch (while running on battery power) to clear/pair.
- This requires the system to have Power Management disabled see the guide below for steps on how to do this:
