Out of contract Vivint system with GoControl - looking to switch

Greetings!

I currently have a Vivint system using the 2gig GoControl (connected to hardwired sensors via I BELIEVE the Take-345) panel and a cellular connection to the monitoring service. We use all of the automation features including the door locks, cameras, thermostats, lights, etc.

We want to upgrade some of our equipment (New nest thermostat, add a couple of cameras, garage door control, etc) - and lower the monthly fee to the current alarm.com rates.

What would we need to do in order to switch over? Can we upgrade the panel while maintaining the multiple hardwired zones that the windows are on or should we stick to the GoControl? Is there any real benefit to updating the panel?

Thanks in advance - looking forward to working with you guys on getting everything changed over.

A Go!Control Panel can be reused with a new Alarm.com cellular module. If you are looking to get set up with an existing 2GIG Go!Control Panel and need to update firmware and swap the module, this kit has everything you need to get started.

In general, this page goes over how to get started with an existing Go!Control Panel.

Service plans through suretyDIY can be compared here.

For all of the equipment you mentioned, you would want Interactive Gold plus Cloud Video.

Note that for the best chance at reusing ADC compatible video cameras (we have seen a lot of trouble here) make sure to delete them from your existing account first. Do you know which models of camera you have?

A 2GIG GC3 would be compatible with existing equipment, with a few exceptions. TS1 secondary pads would not work, nor would the 2GIG Go!Control Image Sensor or Go!Bridge.

Whether or not to replace the panel would be based on your current needs. If you are currently happy with your Go!Control Panel there wouldn’t be a pressing need to swap it out. Since it would require a new cellular module in this case, you would want to consider the cost of a new module vs a new system and how long you anticipate using the current panel.

Of course! Happy to help!
