My less than five year old ADC V722w cameras seemed to dissolve at the collar to keep the camera from moving. I needed help from a neighbor to replace with new ADC V724X cameras. Get them up and positioned and THEN in an unbelievably poor design flaw they require me to “calibrate” each camera which is about impossible now. Please tell me there’s a workaround.
Calibration is required for video analytics rules, to help the camera with person and object detection. To clarify though, calibration doesn’t require physically adjusting the camera. It is a process of taking photos through the camera in various locations within its field of view. A guide on calibrating cameras is below:
Are you having trouble getting the device to recognize you as a person in the calibration photos? Is there a different issue with completing calibration?
Older VMD rules never required calibration because they did not differentiate between types of objects.
Video Analytics rules identify people, vehicles, and animals from other objects which may activate the recording rule to categorize and provide notifications and/or automation based on certain activity.
