Users can now automate relay-controlled devices such as outdoor lighting, appliances, and machinery directly through the Rules Builder, with new support for Programmable (PGM) Command Outputs on IQ and DSC Neo panels. PGM outputs appear as selectable devices right alongside smart lights, making rule setup seamless, with several automation rule types available to trigger responses based on security events, sensor triggers, geofencing, and more. Flexible timed turn-off capabilities also allow each rule to specify its own duration on a single latched PGM, enabling one device to behave differently depending on what triggered it. PGM outputs are supported on the DSC Neo via PGM outputs on the panel. On the IQ Panel 4 and IQ Panel 5, these outputs are supported via the Wired to Wireless converter or Johnson Controls’ new Wireless IOG (PGxWL-IOG), a compact option for extending automation to remote locations without long wire runs.
