New PG+ Smoke and CO Detector Upgrades

The Qolsys PG9933 CO detector is long in the tooth with a life of 5 years vs. the more typical 10 years. When is the 9933 scheduled for a PG+ upgrade?

When is the PG9936 smoke detector scheduled for a PG+ upgrade? I saw a reference to a PGP9976 smoke detector.

I havent seen any information from Qolsys on the PGP9976 being listed as compatible but it is up on DSC’s website. I don’t have any information on those on our end in terms of a release at this time.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a PowerG+ Carbon device win the works, but I could not say if or when at this time.

The PGP9976 is now being advertised by other sources. Can you tell us anything about its availability, pricing and how it differs from the PG9936?

We do not currently stock the PGP9976 so I do not have availability or pricing on it at this time.

The biggest differences the PowerG+ version has over the PowerG sensor is a longer battery life (6 years vs 3 years) and battery reporting to the panel.

In general, PowerG+ sensors provide battery level reporting to the panel and OTA updates, which the regular PowerG sensors do not. At this time, it is not clear what OTA updates can be expected on a per sensor basis
