New firmware available for the V520IR (IP8136W-ALAM-0101d9

You can actually do the firmware update for your ADC camera yourself via the ADC interface now…

New firmware for the V520IR (IP8136W-ALAM-0101d9). No clue difference between 0100d and 0100d9 though. I assume a bug fix.

Thanks…maybe compatibility with new panel?

If referring to the GC3, there is no indication of on screen video being yet implemented.

One thing I did notice since the firmware upgrade, is that the live video takes nearly 30 sec to connect now on alarm.com. Prior to the firmware update it was much faster.

Any other difference since then? New Browser? New Device? Etc.

Does it always take much longer or is it intermittent?

Always. Same browser, same cam…but only since the firmware update.
Unless there are any significant fixes in 0100d9, can you have ADC revert me back to 0100d?

significant delay.

I am expecting to discuss the new firmware with ADC today. Thanks for the additional info, they will want to know when I report this.

Any difference in quality or function once connected? or is the delay all that is noticeable?

I haven’t noticed anything different. The delay is with initialization. Once connected, the real time for live feed is correct and matches the other cam. live and saved video quality seems fine.

Can you try a different browser to confirm whether you are seeing different results between the two?

I’m not seeing any delay, but I am not using Edge. (looks like that’s what you are currently using.)

Win10:

IN IE 11 netcam.CAB is blocked because it has an invalid digital signature.

In Chrome v48.0 there is still a significant delay

Have you power cycled your 520? Try giving it a power cycle, wait 5 minutes, then access from Chrome.

I’m noticing absolutely no change in Chrome.

what windows version?

7 currently.

try in 10.

power cycled…

delay is gone in chrome, but still there in edge, and there is still the invalid .CAB file in IE11

Invalid error in IE11 caused by ActiveX component not being marked safe for scripting. You can actually change that setting in IE under internet options, security, custom level. (you can set that question “allow not marked safe for scripting” to “prompt”)

Was able to have ADC test a little bit and they are noticing similar result on Windows 10 browsers.

It’s already been escalated for resolution.

Downgrading is unlikely to work at this point. To downgrade would require two things I am told: camera must be removed from account, and ADC would need LAN access. However, when re-adding the camera to the account, it should automatically update firmware in the setup process.

I am more interested at this point in knowing the difference between 0101d and 0101d9

Ah, nothing specific or significant. ADC only indicates general performance tweaks.

what is the nature of the performance tweaks. Because at this point, I would recommend that users avoid the 0101d9 firmware update as it, on the face, appears to offer nothing over 0101d ( and ADC seems to be very unforthcoming and cagey about change logs and bugs fixes almost to the point of evasiveness).

and speaking of that…have you gotten anything regarding the change log for the 2GIG firmware 1.14.0.1?

ADC only indicates general performance tweaks

There aren’t details or documentation, at least yet. It may be in weekly release notes next week, nothing for this week. General updates common to any new firmware, I’d say. Looks to have an adverse effect on Windows 10 browsers.

ADC is advertising the V520IR (as well as V520, V620PT, V721W, V720W) to use the Netgear XWNB5602 for signal boosting (an Alarm.com supported solution), perhaps optimization regarding this. Speculation though.
