Need Access to Cameras

I have a DIY system working now but I did not know I had to remove my cameras MAC address from Vivint’s control. I asked them to remove them but they will not. I have the old communication board I can install but I want to be prepared to know how to remove the MAC address from their system before I install the board. I have the newer control panel I believe it is called the Go Control system and it is upgraded to the latest release for your system.

Please do let me know so I can get the video working with you all.

Is your account currently active? If you can log into your Alarm.com account, cameras can be deleted under the video device info page.

[Video - Video Device Settings - Video Device Info - Select Camera from drop down - Delete]

Unfortunately, if you no longer have access, for security reasons there’s no way to otherwise remove them except through the account’s service provider.

I am not sure what account you are referring to. I have a valid account with Alarm.com but my account with Vivint is not functioning. My cameras are tied to Vivint and I don’t have anyway to remove them from their configuration. I was told that if I put my comm module in the control panel I can remove them from Vivint. I am not sure how but that is what I am after.

In Alarm.com you should have access to adding and deleting your IP cameras. If you still have a working login you used for your account, login to Alarm.com and access the Video Tab, follow the instructions in the above post.

The cloud video cameras we are referring to are IP cameras. They do not communicate through cellular, so installing an old communication module would do no good. Are the cameras you are referring to wifi cameras? Can you provide the model number of the cam?

To clear up the confusion.

If you did not have the skypanel, but had the Vivint branded GOControl panel, then you were using alarm.com

You have a small window after you cancel vivint to login to the account and remove the IP cameras off the alarm.com/vivint account (go to Customer Login, and use your old Vivint username and Vivint password).

You cannot reuse alarm.com cameras on one alarm.com account if they are still registered on another account.

If on the other hand, you had the skypanel, you may or may not be able to reuse those on alarm.com. No need to remove them off Vivint’s network. In my case I was able to get my V520IR online, and have alarm.com update the firmware. On the newer Vivint IP cameras (especially doorbell cam which is not alarm.com compatible) you may not be able to depending on the camera firmware fork.
