I’ve had a Qolsys iq panel 2 and remote for 6 years with no issues. I got a power loss the power restored alert on my phone from alarm.com.
When I got home the screen was black on my iq2. I’ve tried unplugging it from the 7v, I’ve taken the battery out, I’ve held down the power button, I’ve tried it all. All it does is flash the red light, then flash to green sometimes.
The screen never boots up. I’ve decided the panel is dead. So, I just ordered a new iq panel 4 with s new remote panel.
My question is….
Is there a way to unpair all of my s-line sensors when I have no access to my old panel? That way I can pair them to the new panel.
Or, is there a way to deactivate the old panel and all of my sensors and settings go to the new panel?
Activating the new panel do I need to be home? In a first responder and work 15 hour shifts. M-F. So, I’m not able to be home when they’re open to activate the new panel. I can call in with the information though.
I am not seeing a Surety subscription tied to this username. Do you use Surety as your provider? If so, for the best assistance please reach out using the login which is tied to your subscription.
If you use a different service provider, please be sure to direct questions regarding panel replacement, hours of operation, and their backup restore procedures to your provider.

There is no need to remove sensor programming from an old panel. The IQ S-Line sensors broadcast their status and the panel is programmed to listen to that status. They can be programmed into any number of panels simultaneously.
Thank you for the reply. I do not have your service. My panel is through GEOARM and connected via alarm.com.
So, I’ll get the new panel, install it, call GEOARM have them deactivate my old panel and activate my new? But, even before they activate it, my new sensor will automatically be detected to my new panel? Or I need to do the setup process all over again for each sensor to my new panel?
Will all my settings and names in alarm.com transfer over to the new panel?

I cannot answer how they will handle the situation and what process they will want to follow.
We are happy to help with general tech questions for any users, however this is all partially or fully dependent on your provider and your current account.
But, even before they activate it, my new sensor will automatically be detected to my new panel?
No. They will need to be programmed or restored if that process is available. I cannot confirm whether backup restore is available for you. Please contact your provider for details on this.
One caveat I can provide, if you are updating to an IQ Panel 4 and your firmware on the IQ Panel 2 is below 2.6.0, backup restore is not possible in Alarm.com and sensors must be manually programmed.
