Looking for some advice on mounting the detectors. The current hard wired (non-interconnected) detectors are wall mounted, but I’d rather go ceiling with these. However, my ceiling is popcorn style and I’m not sure if that would have an impact on the mounting plate. Do I need to scrape off the popcorn texture or will they be ok just screwing straight on to it?
The popcorn texture shouldn’t impact the mounting of the panel too much as long as it’s relatively level. You should be able to just screw the mounting plate directly to the ceiling.
