Mounting orientation for DSC PG9303

Are there any issues with mounting the DSC PG9303 as shown in the picture? These are french doors where both the left and right panel open (but the left can’t be opened unless the right is open).

The sensor and the magnet are aligned exactly like they would be in a normal vertical installation, they’ve just both been rotated so that they align in a horizontal position. In the pic, the magnet is on the moving panel while the sensor is on stationary frame.

From a signaling perspective it should be fine. Changing the orientation can affect the signal, but I doubt you will see much of an effect here.

The one thing I might look out for is the surface adhesion. If you are using tape, the rougher texture of many ceilings may not result in as strong of a bond and may end up loosening down the road more than it might on the door.

If that spot is smooth and doesn’t experience much vibration from the door you’re probably fine. I would recommend using a screw as well to connect the sensor.
