I am having an odd occurrence, and it has now happened several times. Most recently, within the last hour. The scenario is the same each time. I leave the house and set the alarm to alarm away by keyfob. I return. I open the entry door and hit the keyfob to disarm. I hear the panel stating that the system is disarmed. Then, I walk into the house. No alarm sounds. However, there is then a communication over the panel (or a phone call if I miss the panel communication) in which I am told that the alarm has been tripped and the police will be sent unless I give the password. In each case, the alarm is tripped by the motion detectors and not by the entry door. I will attach a screenshot of the relevant activity. It is acting like there is no delay on the motions, although there is the normal “arm away” delay on the entry door. Any idea what the problem is or how to fix it?
Right off hand, it sounds like the zone or sensor for your interior motion is set as a 24-hour sensor. I would check the parameters to be sure it was not set as a 24 hour monitored sensor. Someone from the technical support department should be able to give you more information about this. I am just a consumer but this is my initial thought.
It looks like you are using a GC3 panel with firmware 3.2.3. There is a known issue with GC3 firmware 3.2+ where the panel does not properly handle motion detectors during entry delay. The Interior Follower sensor type is supposed to be disregarded during entry delay, but the error causes the panel to go into alarm if the motion is tripped during the delay.
The short term work-around to resolve the issue is to change the motion detector sensor type to 10 Interior with Delay. This adds an entry delay to the motion detector naturally, so it would never cause an immediate trip.
