I moved my system to our new office last week and have been able to get the panel and door sensor to work without any problems. However, I have 3 motion detectors and when I replaced the batteries in them the system indicated a tamper with the devices and I cannot get that notice to clear. I am currently having to bypass the motion detector sensors to set the alarm. How can I remedy this?
If the tamper is not resolving at the panel, there is likely an issue halting communication.
Two possibilities spring to mind first:
- Make sure to check battery polarity.
- When replacing batteries, leave the detectors powered down for a minute, then reinsert the battery. Does this resolve the issue? (Most PIRs will have a capacitor inside and battery should be removed for a short while before re-applying voltage via new battery)
