My motion sensor battery went out and I replaced it. It is still giving me a low battery warning. I restarted the panel hoping it would reset, but no luck. Can you look at it from your end. Thanks
A couple things to check:
- Make sure the polarity is correct.
- If you have another sensor that uses that same type of battery, try switching the batteries between them. Does sensor A (current low battery one) resolve the trouble alert and start signaling? Does sensor B stop working?
- Remove the batteries from the sensor and leave them out fort a full minute, then reinsert the batteries. Does the device power up and start working?
Thanks Jason…I read another post that said to check the new batteries. The battery read 3.18 and still set off the alert. The other battery from the pack read 3.24 and cleared the error…Pretty sensitive.
The voltage levels of Lithium batteries tend to stay high and then precipitously drop, rather than go down gradually, so the low battery threshold is higher I believe.
I don’t think 3.18 is past the threshold, but the reason I suggested to wait a minute before re-inserting the battery is that in some sensors the residual power in the sensor/capacitors has to dissipate for the new level to be registered properly and resolve at the panel.
In any case, it’s good to hear it is cleared for you!
