Monitored Sensor - Without Alarm

I have a front gate Honeywell switch that I would like to receive status reports and messages when it it opened without setting of my alarm even when the alarm is armed. The only sensor type I can see for this is ‘No Response Type’. I had a rule set up on alarm.com to let me know when the gate was open for more than a minute. Now that I have chosen ‘No Response Type’ my gate sensor doesn’t show up on alarm.com anymore.

update This sensor apparently is still available on alarm.com for ‘sensor activity’ but no ‘sensor left open’.

Is this sensor labeled “Driveway?”

You would want to use 23 No Response Type, then for equipment type, select contact.

If you select “motion” it will assume this is a motion detector and left open notifications will not apply.

You can make sure it is selected for activity monitoring by accessing the sensors page in Alarm.com.

Sometimes zone type 23 sensors do not show as selectable for notifications. For more info on this, and how to work around it, see:

So I was able to get the rule set for left open. Now the sensor doesn’t show up on the front page under ‘sensor status’.

Ah, yes, often when making changes to sensor type there will be a bit of a delay to when all notifications will update with the correct options and showing up under sensor status.
