I’m trying to add a 6th ZWave light control device, but the Qolsys IQ2 panel is verbally telling me that the light control device limit has been reached.
I see from this older Support topic that the panel defaults to 5 devices, but it can be increased to 10 devices via the panel itself. (The limit may even be higher if I start using ZWave Plus devices, but I’m not sure about that and don’t have any.)
So now the problem I’m having is that the display on my IQ2 panel has been inoperative since early 2020, so I can’t increase the device limit that way. Is there another way to do it?
In a previous support ticket, I asked about replacing the panel but it appears to be a complicated procedure so I’ve been putting it off.
The hard limit on types of Z-wave devices paired to the panel is not related to the linked light status limitation.
The IQ Panel 2 has a number of settings which installers sometimes use to limit the number of devices added to the panel. Z-wave device limits are individual settings in programming.
I have sent a command to increase your Z-wave device limits, you should be able to add new devices now. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble!
