Low battery issues on 2GIG system

I have a 2GIG system and a few weeks ago, the Alarm app notified me by about low battery on the following -

  1. Front door, back door, garage door
  2. Motion sensor in living room
  3. Glass break alarms (3)

I replaced the batteries on the glass break alarms and the alerts went away. I pulled out the motion sensor but it is hard-wired – there’s no battery inside. And I couldn’t find any sensors on the doors, I think they must be hidden inside. I found of couple of indentations on the door, door jamb, and the threshold but not sure how to take them out? I’m thinking they are also hard-wired somehow? How do I resolve the issues?

Should I change the big Duracell battery inside the panel? I’ve replaced the old one with Duracell around October 2023.

Based on programming Zones 1 through 4 (all showing Low Battery) are hardwired sensors wired into a 2GIG TAKE-345 Takeover Module (SuperSwitch). If you have hardwired sensors connected to the 2GIG-TAKE-345 reporting a “Low Battery” that means the 12V brick backup battery in the old panel can is disconnected or dead.

Thank you. I went ahead and replaced it with a brand new Duracell 12v battery. I asked the battery guy how long these batteries typically last and he said about 3-5 years. When I said mine lasted only about 1.5 years, he said the security system is not charging the battery properly. What can I do to make sure it’s charging properly? The low battery alerts still persist.

Try performing these steps to clear the low battery:

  1. Unplug the Transformer providing power and then battery from the Take-345 module to completely power down the module
  2. Wait at least 10 seconds. I would recommend waiting about 20-30 seconds.
  3. Connect battery first
  4. Connect transformer after

Wait a couple minutes and see if the trouble cleared on the panel.

The battery usually do last about 3-5 years but this is from manufacturing date and not install date. There should be a date on the battery showing when it was made. You can check there if it is 3-5 years old. The battery life expectancy also decreases if there is a lot of power outages as well.

Thank you, vidail. That worked for me. All errors have been cleared.
