The 2GIG XCVR2 is the model to look for. I don’t believe the standard one in the panel is sold separately anymore, but the XCVR2 is still available from various vendors online. The difference is it includes support for 2GIG 900 Mhz devices, mainly Image Sensors and TS1 keypads as well.
Hi, me again. I bought and replaced that radio transmitter, installed and restarted the system and i’m still having the same issue.
So it apparently wasn’t a hardware issue. Do you have any other ideas on what I should try? The alarm system is completely inoperable so i’m considering canceling my surety service.
Was the panel powered down completely when you made the swap?
If so and it still has the same issue, double check the pins are inserted correctly for the transceiver. If all looks good, unfortunately this means the panel board itself is not able to see the receiver connected. A factory reset of the 2GIG panel would be the last step to try.
There is no panel setting to affect whether the system can connect to the transceiver. It’s very odd, I only recall seeing something similar in the past as the immediate after effect of updating a handful of really old systems to 1.10 firmware, but that was roughly a decade ago and wouldn’t apply here.
Can you point me to how to do a factory reset of the panel? Also, would that mean that I have to reprogram all the zones etc from scratch?
If this doesn’t work, what are my options? Complete replacement of the panel to a newer model?
Yes, if successful it means you would need to reprogram zones. Below is a video on the reset process.
If it does not work, it would require panel replacement. That could be a newer panel that supports your 345Mhz sensors, or the same model 2GIG panel. GC2s can be found used online for pretty low cost I believe. the newest 2GIG panel model is the Edge.
An IQ Hub, choosing the 345Mhz version would support your existing sensors.
Ok thank you, I will try this.
