I am in need of a sensor for an overhead detached garage. If you can please recommend one, I’d appreciate it. The detached garage door is approximately 100 ft from the panel.
That distance, depending on the materials of the building, may be too far for a wireless sensor to be reliable without a repeater, but in general the options for monitoring an overhead garage door can be found here.
If you intend to use it as an alarm generating sensor, I would recommend using a wired garage door contact like the 4532L with a transmitter sensor like the RE101.
If the distance is too much, a repeater like the RE524X can be used with unencrypted wireless sensors like the RE101.
