Liftmaster and smart home integration...

Hello,
I have 2GIG Go!Control panel with the latest firmware.
I wanted to add Lift-master MyQ integration so that I can control garage doors with my Alarm.com app.
I am also considering adding light control switches but do not know where to start as far as what is supported. Any info or links, please?
I did purchased Amazon Echo that can be used for integration and do not know where to start either.
When I logged into my alarm.com account, I do not see an option to add these features (garage door and smart lighting).
Any advise on how to get these items added to my account would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like this is regarding an early account created prior to Liftmaster Integration being available. Try checking now. Under the Empower tab when logged into Alarm.com, on the Garage page. You can add your Liftmaster gateway and devices here. Alarm.com provides step by step instructions once you get started.

In general, Z-wave light switches are very simple and the vast majority should work. If you want to play it safe, stick to devices found here. You learn in Z-wave devices at the alarm panel, not through Alarm.com. This page has general Z-wave instructions and tips.

Amazon Echo integration instructions can be found here.

Jason,
I purchased GE in-wall smart switches and was planning to add them to my 2GIG Go Control. I do see Lights and Shades in my Alarm.com account but when I go to Services on my Go Control panel it states that it needs to be activated by the dealer.
Can you please activate this option so that I can add the Z-wave light switches?
Thanks

This means it is not enabled in programming on the 2GIG panel. As a DIYer, you have full access to programming on your panel.

Enter the installer toolbox and select System Configuration. Go to the following Q’s in programming and make sure they have the appropriate value:

Q79: (3) Enabled on Panel. Rules Disabled. Remote Access Enabled.
Q80: (1) Enabled
Q81: (1) Enabled
Q82: (1) Enabled

Warren,
Thank you for your reply. I may be a little rusty on programming but after getting into sys config on go control I cant get to Q79. any way you can direct me on how to do this?
if it is easier, I will be home for next 30min so may be you can call me on the number associated with my account.

suretyDIY tech support is handled on our forum here.

Once in system configuration, press “Go To” and type 79.

Use the left and right arrows to change the value, use the up and down arrows to go to different programming Q’s.

Hello,
I programmed one of my ZWave light switches to do the following:

  1. turn on when Panel is armed AWAY
  2. between 5pm and 11pm
  3. turn on for 10 min.

Here are my questions:

  1. if light turns on for 10 min at 5pm and turns off at 5:10pm, is it possible to have it turn back on lets say at 6:10 or I have to create a separate rule?
  2. If I specify that it should turn on at after sunset, will it only turn on for 10min at sunset and then what?

Thank you

1. if light turns on for 10 min at 5pm and turns off at 5:10pm, is it possible to have it turn back on lets say at 6:10 or I have to create a separate rule?

You can’t set a single rule to turn on for multiple different times or for various reasons. You would want to just create a second rule if you want the light to turn on at a specific separate time.

2. If I specify that it should turn on at after sunset, will it only turn on for 10min at sunset and then what?

If you set the rule to turn off the light after 10 minutes, then yes, it would turn on due to whatever trigger was chosen only after sunset and turn back off ten minutes later.

You can select a variety of time lengths for the light to remain on before turning off, or you can have it remain on indefinitely until another rule or a manual action affects it.
