Keypad displays FTC Receiver 1 on a DSC PowerSeries Neo

A Failure to Communicate (FTC) is a local trouble condition on a DSC PowerSeries Neo panel. The error message is associated with the specific receiver generating the error, most commonly Receiver 1. This error typically indicates a signal failed to send to the monitoring station, or that a signal the panel was expected to send was not sent.

How to resolve:

Note: If the account is not associated with a monitoring station (self-monitored), verify Section 380, option 1 is disabled to clear FTC troubles.

Send a successful signal to the monitoring station

To send a signal to clear an FTC:

  1. Send a signal (e.g., alarm or opening/closing) to the monitoring station.
  • Important*: This does not include communication tests (auto/manual tests) since this signal comes from the module instead of the panel.
  1. Verify that the signal is successfully received at the monitoring station and Alarm.com.
  2. After a signal is sent, wait about 10 to 15 minutes for the FTC message to clear.

When doing the above, be sure to place your 24/7 Monitoring Account on test mode to avoid false dispatches. If you use service through Surety follow the steps below:
