I have the LiftMaster MyQ feature added to my account but I don’t see the option to add my garage door opener from the app > Add Device > Garage Door. I only see Aladdin Connect and OHD Anywhere. Where can I go to add my Chamberlain MyQ garage door opener?
Looks like you do have MyQ recently added. I would recommend logging out of Alarm.com then log back in, this may be necessary to view the change.
I would also recommend checking this on the Alarm.com website. Settings > Manage Devices > Add Device > Garage
Got it, so when trying to add the opener on alarm.com it is telling me that it’s registered to another account and to remove it from MyQ. When I go to MyQ it’s not on my device list and when I try to add it, it tells me it’s linked to an alarm.com account and to use the same email as I used for alarm.com… I am using the same email and I am still not able to re-add this thing to my MyQ app or alarm.com…
Was able to get it cleared out via MyQ. I hung up on the initial MyQ tech support person and called back. Got a more competent tech the second time. I am writing up what we did below so people can find solution in the future.
- They had me factory reset the Smart Garage Hub (press and hold gear button until blue light blinking, release, do it again until beep).
- Then on my iPhone they had me connect directly to the MyQ network called MyQ-XXX. 2a) They had me turn off limit ip tracking.
- Then while connected to the local MyQ network, they had me navigate to setup.myqdevice.com. There I was able to manually connect the Smart Garage Hub directly to my home wifi network.
- After these steps, my device was esentially unlinked from any previous ADC/MyQ account setups. From there I was able to add my Smart Garage Hub through alarm.com.
The factory reset was the necessary part there. Was likely a bug preventing the registration data from clearing in the hub.
Steps 2 and 3 are a way of connecting the MyQ Hub to wifi without registering the hub to a MyQ account. Those were actually the original instructions they used when the hubs first came out.
Chamberlain updated their process and changed the instructions a bit to include MyQ registration prior to the network connection, which is ok, but you just have to delete the Hub from the MyQ account afterward before connecting to ADC.
