Ever since updating the main IQ panel 4 to fw version 4.6.2 and the secondary remote panel to the same, I’ve been experiencing some weird issues. The LED indicator (green or red) is out of sync again (forget which earlier fw version fixed it). After arming the system in “stay” mode today, the secondary panel randomly started a countdown requiring the passcode with no user input. Lastly, it also said the garage door opened when it was shut. None of these issues were mirrored on the main panel either. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with this latest fw update?
Has it had any other issues since?
I would recommend you delete the keypad form the panel, master reset the keypad, and then learn it back in.
To delete it, swipe down from the main screen > Settings > Advanced Settings > Installation > Devices > Security Sensors > Delete Sensor > Select the keypad and press delete
You should have a settings button on the secondary keypad. Pressing it should give you the option to master reset.
Hi Vidail. Still experiencing the same issues with my IQ Secondary Remote Panel since updating the firmware. The remote panel said the garage door was open again last night in “stay” mode at about 11pm. I also have the screen off setting at night time so it’s not blinding us in our bedroom at night, which has worked well over the past few years. The screen came on full blast last night around midnight and remained on through present.
I will try removing the secondary panel today and performing a master reset and learning it back in. Hopefully that fixes it because it’s quite a nuisance now when it used to be fine on the previous fw version.
It’s asking me to enter a user code and when I go to enter mine, it says invalid. Then I tried the default ‘1111’ code that also failed. Not sure what the user code is that it thinks it has but I also see that the time is 4:11am when it’s currently 2:52pm.
Update: Shut off the secondary remote panel for a day and removed it from the master panel. Turned the remote panel back on and upon booting, it tried to connect to a wifi network. Connected it to the same wifi network as my master panel and it downloaded a patch and paired with the master. Now it’s showing the right time and LEDs seem to be in sync with the right armed status. Just waiting for a new battery to arrive from Amazon as this one seems to not hold a charge (despite being plugged in 24/7).
Glad to hear you were able to get that issue resolved by Master Resetting the panel.
When replacing the battery, it can take up to 24 hours to fully charge a new battery after it has been installed. You can check the charging status by clicking on the battery icon in the settings tray on the IQ Remote.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks, Tyler. Brief update: I swapped out the battery in the IQ Remote panel yesterday evening and it seems to have resolved the myriad of seemingly random issues I was experiencing. It appears to be operating normally now and hopefully this helps anyone else experiencing similar issues in the future.
Thanks for posting this. I also have been having issues with one of my IQ Secondary Remote panels since updating to 4.6.2. My panel’s battery now will drain despite being plugged in. Unplugging the power supply and plugging it back in will resolve the problem for a few days. After that, I’ll get another low battery alert… however the unit doesn’t appear to ever actually die. As near as I can tell, it started a week or two after doing the update. I’m not sure if they’re related, but sounds like I should try replacing the battery to see if that resolves it. (Note that this is happening to the older style secondary panel, my newer style ones are all functioning normally).
That sounds similar to my experience. Instead of unplugging the power supply, I’d perform a device restart and it would work for 1-1.5 days, then I’d get the low power alert notification. Mine too would never fully die… it’d get down to like 4-5% and say “charging” but would hover around there. Ever since installing a new battery, it seems to be working/charging fine. Hope it works out for you too!
Is this for a QW9104-840? Per Qolsys, a battery replacement is recommended with the issues you are having however if it is a QW9104-840, the whole keypad would need to be replaced as these have the batteries built into the the device.
