unable to connect to thermostat
Happy to help, I will need a bit more information to better assist you.
In what way are you unable to connect? Are you having issues with manual commands through the thermostat or are you having remote/scheduled command issues as well?
How long have you been having issues with the thermostat? Records indicate that a Z-Wave thermostat is learned in and communicating. Can you confirm?
What is the make/model of the thermostat you are having trouble with?
Are you having trouble with a different thermostat than the one currently learned in?
I can control the thermostat form the unit itself but not through the phone app or through the computer.
I have been having issues with it for a few weeks now. Its the one that is currently connected to my account.
Related commands in history show as having been acknowledged by the system, so the issue would be between the panel and device. Whenever you have Z-wave signaling issues with a thermostat there are a few things to double check:
-
Is the thermostat in Flirs mode? This means that the thermostat was learned in on battery power. (This thermostat reports as having been learned in on battery power) When learned in on battery power, the Z-wave radio operates in a power save mode which can limit range and responsiveness. This will be more prominent the longer the device is in use as batteries drain. I always recommend learning in thermostats on AC power completed via the C-wire. If you have a C wire attached, it would be good to relearn the device that way.
-
Signal may simply not be reaching the Tstat due to distance or lack of repeating nodes. Running on battery will exaggerate this effect. Z-wave is a mesh network and the more repeating nodes you have like light switches the stronger the network, generally. If any devices were moved or removed you might be having some signaling trouble.
-
Always be sure to run a network rediscovery when troubleshooting Z-wave signal. Network Rediscovery remaps routes to the device which can assist with a few different problems. Settings - Smart Home Settings - Rediscover Network.
Hi…do you know of any ways i could fix that issue in my RC end…i broke the little plastic cover and my thermostat does not push any cold air…im thiking there is a bad connection there…
Cheers

I’m not picturing this, what model of thermostat are you using?
Looks like you tried to post an image, but it was too large. Can you resize and repost please?
