I have a low battery smoke alarm warning.
I plan on changing the battery when i get home.
The last time I attempted to replace a battery in a remote door sensor, the alarm panel was screaming at me! TAMPER ATTEMPT!!!
what steps do I take to replace the battery so the panel is not blaring out TAMPER ATTEMPT sensor #?

There is no way to prevent or mute the tamper alert shy of removing the sensor from panel programming for a smoke detector as it cannot be bypassed. Fortunately, the tamper alert should clear shortly after the battery is replaced.
Be sure to leave the smoke detector powered down for 30 seconds before replacing the batteries.
