Issue with Alarm.com mobile app

All three of the phones on my account are all reporting a malfunction and no communication with SuretyDIY. But I am literally on the app on my phone right now and everything is working. My mom and sister both say their apps recently updated too and are all working. What is going on? Is there some kind of bug with the newest version of your App?

Would be more than happy to assist you!
How long have your cell phones been reporting a malfunction? For awhile? Since the app updated?
Is Geo Services enabled in the app? You will want to enable it if it isn’t.
However, if it is enabled, you will want to disable then re-enable the feature. Does this fix the issue?

Alright. Turning it off and back on fixed it. Thanks.

I’ve had the same message for a while and the fix suggested didnt work for me.

I had lost push notifications and turning them off and back in fixed that but i still have a malfunction on my phone nitificatiin.

I’ve been seeing the same issue periodically for a couple weeks.

There is a duplicate Geo-services device listed on this account. As far as a cause, it may be related to removing and re-adding the app, or troubleshooting the push notifications.

However, you can get rid of the original malfunctioning device by logging into Alarm.com and navigating to the Mobile Tab. Click on the malfunctioning device’s name and click the trash icon in the upper right.

I’ve been seeing the same issue periodically for a couple weeks.

Navigate to the Mobile Tab in Alarm.com. There are two different devices listed. One of the devices on the account is showing a malfunction under Geo-Devices. If this device is often powered off or causing a lot of alerts you can turn off the 24 hour malfunction event for the device individually by clicking on the device name and unchecking the report malfunction box. Make sure to save any changes.

Thank you.

I had looked through the site when i first noticed it and never looked there.

All good now.

I take it back. Turning Geo-Services in the app worked for my phone, but not for my mom and sister’s. When they try to turn it off, it just slides back to the on position and won’t actually turn off.

Instead of trying to slide the icon, just tap it to turn it off. Does that work?

Ultimately these are also Geo-Devices which are inactive with no server check-ins for 24 hours, which is causing the alert. You can follow the same steps above to remove the alert if the phones are powered off often or you get frequent alerts due to them not checking in via Geo-fencing.
