Issue Making Changes to Alarm.com Schedules

When ever I make changes to a scheduled item such as turning on and off my whole house fan with an approved light switch, it does not make the change . I even deleted my whole house fan setting from the web interface and it still shows up on the app interface and still turns it on and off on the old schedule. How can the changes I make be pushed live when I make them from the web interface?

Happy to assist!

Changes to schedules/rules in the Alarm.com website should be pushed to the mobile application upon saving the schedule/rule. While this change may not be instant, it should occur shortly after saving the change.

To clarify, when making a change to a schedule in the Alarm.com website, the change doesn’t take affect at all, or just in the mobile application? Has this been happening the entire time or more recently?

I do not see a schedule utilizing the aforementioned device. Is this device being affected by a schedule currently?

When making the change in the Alarm.com website, does logging out of, then back into, the mobile application fix the issue?

When was the last time you updated the mobile app? You will want to determine if there is a newer version and update to that version as well.

When I have tried to change the schedule in the past it would sometimes update and sometimes it would not. I would wait days with the same issue. I have tried to remove the whole house rule entirely so it would not turn on since it’s getting cold here. I deleted the rule entirely but it still automatically turns on in the evening. It turned on last night and I’ll have to let you know if it turns on again tonight. Is there a way to force an update?

I guess I misspoke when I said I could see it form the mobile app. I can’t see or make changes to a rule there, but that’s how I’ve turned off the fan when i hear it come on upstairs.

Thank you for clarifying! Can you confirm the Z-wave Node ID of the switch connected to your alarm panel which controls the fan?

Does your front light turn on at sunset as the rule states? If not you may have the labels switched on those devices in Alarm.com as I do see a rule which would activate in the evening intended for the other switch.

We’ve had rules rebuilt for your panel. The command should clear any that are currently there, then add only hat is currently saved on your Alarm.com account. Let us know how it functions this evening.

Hi, the ID for the fan is 4.

Yes, the front light does turn on at sunset.

The whole house fan turned on at 7:00 tonight. So your changes did not fix the issue. I also saw that the panel had an update that could be run on it. I just downloaded and it’s currently updating the panel. Maybe that’s the issue? Not really sure at this point.

Also (please see previous posting too) When sunset came tonight the front porch lights did not come on. Maybe it had something to do with the update, but I ran it after sundown 7:10 our local time.

I guess we will have to see what happens tomorrow.

One other question. When the front lights come on and go over automatically it is announced by the panel. Is there a way to have the panel NOT announce the light and or fan, but keep the announcements it currently has?

If you are still having trouble with the rule, something that should resolve the issue is to remove the fan switch from the Z-wave network and re-add it to the network. This should clear any rule the IQ Panel has failed to delete. Settings - Installation - Home Control Devices - Clear Device, perform the learn action on the switch. Wait a couple minutes. Then Add Devices, perform the learn action on the switch.

Yes, there is. Go to Settings - System Settings - Sound. Home Control Announcement setting is found here.
