Just wondering if it would be possible to disable the ability to turn off the panel via the power button on the side?
If not, is it possible for intruders to turn off the panel when it is armed away? Given the fact that entry/exit has a delay of about 45 seconds.
Just wanted to make sure the panel cannot be tampered with during Armed mode.
Rebooting the panel with the physical button only works when the panel is disarmed. If you do it while armed it gives you the opportunity to enter your code and disarm, and if you don’t then it remains on and armed.
But if the intruder has physical access to the panel then the risk is they destroy it. That’s what Alarm.com crash and smash protection is for. When the first sensor is tripped that starts the entry countdown, it immediately sends a signal to Alarm.com. If Alarm.com doesn’t receive a disarm signal shortly after, it assumes the panel was destroyed and sends a crash and smash alarm signal to the monitoring center.
The physical button should normally only be used to turn on the panel. Turing it off should be done using the admin menus in the panel.
