I have the model 84501 which was added into my alarm.com account. But when I changed my router it of course lost connection. I know this is more of a liftmaster issue than alarm.com but since we can’t use the myq app I’m struggling. I did try the instructions given here:
Put the garage door opener into Wi-Fi Setup mode by pressing and releasing the yellow Learn button on the garage door opener (i.e., motor) two-three times. The garage door opener beeps once, and a blue light flashes. You have 20 minutes to complete the connection process.
On a mobile device or laptop, connect to the Wi-Fi Network with the “MyQ-“ prefix.
Follow the prompts on the website and select Erase Wi-Fi.
Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the garage door opener to your new Wi-Fi network.
However I can’t even get to step #2 as I don’t see the MyQ network on either my laptop or mobile phone.
I also tried the WPS on my router. Do I need to start with the myq app and then transfer to alarm.com? I don’t remember how I did it last time. BTW, my garage door opener does still show as being registered in my alarm.com account.
I believe so. The Liftmaster manual says to press and release the yellow learn button on the motor. Another set of directions say to press two to three times before hearing a beep. I’ve tried both methods.
It’s worth mentioning that the adjustment button between the two arrows continually flashes blue.
It’s not. I’ve checked both phone and laptop and I’m standing underneath the motor. I wonder if I should try to connect via myQ just to get connected to the internet. But not sure if it’s possible since the device is already registered with Alarm.com.
The next step I would recommend would be to default the device and try re-adding it to alarm.com. In order for it to work with alarm.com, you cannot use the MyQ app
