Is IQ Pro Behind On Features?

It looks like it hasn’t received a software update for a while, and also doesn’t support a bunch of of new products such as PowerG+, PowerG automation etc. Any reason for this? It was always billed as an IQ Panel 4 married to a Neo. Is there a complete list of what it is falling behind on and how the end experience differs? Is it an end of life type product?

The IQ Pro is geared more towards commercial or complex hybrid installations rather than residential or typical installs.

Programming is the biggest difference when it comes to the IQ Pro vs the IQ Panel 4 or IQ 4 Hub. The IQ Pro must be programmed through the IQ Installer app and cannot be done locally through a keypad. IQ Pro also lacks features such as Two-Way Voice, a built-in camera, a built-in glass break, and built-motion detection.

Since the real question wasn’t answered.

No there isn’t a document showing the delta between the current features and functionality and Qolsys doesn’t publish or share a road map or release schedule.

I’m glad I opted for an Iq4 and powerg to wired adapter for my install. It was a count toss. I would have been annoyed with the feature disparity over time. Stands to reason in some ways. I’d wager the Iq4 panel has a substantially larger sales number. Looking forward to what an iq5 can offer.

I think/hope the next IQ Pro software update will bring it to parity with the IQ Panel 4 in terms of PowerG+ support. I suspect that will be in the next few months.

Is there a specific device or PowerG+ feature you are looking for? I’ll try to get more details from IQ about it.

No, the IQ Pro isn’t end of life. It’s a relatively new product.

I’m interested in the PowerG + Water Tile. Not only does it have a water detection rope option instead of limited to spot sensing, a freeze function. Until I learned the freeze function only works with PowerG + and not in fallback PowerG mode.

I use an IQ Pro at home because it replaced an extensive wired system and we prefer keypads over screens. The screens are eye candy but partition support is poor: it requires entering a code constantly and the remotes are locked to a single partition (no master mode). Plus I already had all the wired keypad locations, wiring for bus, etc. You also can’t completely silence the IQ panels or remotes and I don’t want siren from noises from panels, I prefer a separate siren or in the case of fire, synchronized 520Hz NACs with strobes.
