The new irrigation functionality is cool, but I don’t have a sprinkler system. We do have an irrigation need for our garden, but today we just use a hose and a dumb hose timer. Any way to leverage the new irrigation functionality with a hose?

There wouldn’t be much difference. You could use something like this to control the hose water flow. The Rachio controls 24VAC valves.
