IQlock-PG feature request

I didn’t see any threads related to this lock, perhaps I am the first customer with one that has found a need to post. I recently installed the IQlock-PG deadbolt to replace a Kwikset Z-wave deadbolt. The Kwikset one had been working fine, though the battery life was never great and the touch screen was slow and often annoying…but the keyway had worn to the point we could not use keys anymore.

I had looked at all of the more recent models, but decided that it was unlikely I would abandon my IQ Panel4 anytime soon so I could just go with the PowerG lock. The install was straightforward, should be even easier for people that aren’t attaching it to a 100+ year old door designed for mortised locks.

Adding the lock to the panel was easy, as I had already updated the firmware. The lock is much faster than the one we replaced. I manually removed the keyway and took it to a local locksmith to have it keyed to match, cost me $15 and was well worth it.

Now as to the quirk I think should be fixed in a firmware update, assuming the panel can remotely update the lock. When you unlock the deadbolt manually you get a confirmation LED, when you manually lock it you also get a confirmation LED. This applies if you use a key or the interior handle.

Now as for the feature request, when you use the keypad to unlock you get no visual confirmation that it worked. You have to listen for the lock actuator. If you manually lock it you get a green LED “IQLock” button…but why is it that there is no green LED when you successfully unlock it? This is really confusing and so far makes people in my household assume it didn’t work.

Please please add confirmation LED for unlock using keypad.

This is great feedback, thank you! Yes, we can forward this to the manufacturer for consideration. It certainly makes sense, though I am not sure if they would be able to update the device remotely like that or if it would require newer revisions of the hardware.
