Purchased an IQKP-915 to locate within line of sight of a perimeter door with the intent that it would provide an at-a-glance view of arming status before somebody opens the door (from the inside). However, when the keypad sleeps, besides the numerals going dark, the arm/disarm status lights also go dark. I’m guessing the answer to this is no, but is there a way to override this behavior and either keep the arm/disarm status lit or the entire keypad?
I realize this is to save battery life, but DSC’s other wireless keypads have AC with battery backup, and while the IQKP-915 does not, it’s not a big deal for me to provide it with 6VDC (or 3VDC if the batteries are in parallel) from behind it because it’s replacing an old keypad I already have wire pulled to.
This may not be a deal-breaker for my personal use (debating this), but was intending on using these for my mother-in-law’s place as well. As a first-time alarm user, there’s a higher likelihood of her forgetting arming status and a keypad near the door is an easy solve for that. If this behavior can’t be changed on the IQKP-915, are my primary alternatives that have the arming indicator always lit the IQ Remote (PG), HS2LCD, and HS2LCDWF9?
