Iq4 stuck in zwave rediscovery for 24hr

Good morning can you guys tell me what are my zwave devices/sensors showing in the adc tech app?

Can you trigger rediscovery through tech app? And see if it will actually rediscover ?

I have add two ads zwave temp sensors and rediscover after as always and my system been stuck in forever rediscovery mode.

I try power down the system for extended time, removing battery power at same time and restarting system with “optimizing network” during start up and left it on all night with out changes. Just suck on that screen.

I don’t really want to remove 43 zwave devices to add them back on because that was only way I got this resolve when I had a device doing this. Also I never had this issue until about 4.1 on iq4 and now is still there on 4.3

Please help!

Is the panel behaving normally now? Yes a rediscovery can be sent remotely, we sent one here and the panel responded and looks like it completed.

The temp sensors will not participate in rediscoveries.

It looks like the main issue is that the panel was waiting for responses from the temp sensors, but this would never occur. You can tap the button on the side of the temp sensor to wake it up, but it will not communicate a response to network rediscovery.

I do not see a node 125 on your system, was that deleted and relearned?

@jwcsurety

Hey Jason I did delete that sensor. As of this morning panel was still acting up. I understand about temp sensors and yes I always push the button to wake them up during discovery. This has all zwave devices showing in my picture stuck in forever discovery, they never come out of it. Has been like that for two days now. I’m not home but will call my son to see if it changed since you send command from your end.

Can you send me screen shot from tech app showing status of all z-wave devices showing discovery status.

I been having some issues with this panel from day 1. I have another iq4 on stand by today. Please run panel back up in case we need to do a swap today before holiday. You guys wont be in tomorrow correct ?

@jwcsurety no changes please see picture bellow panel still showing “discovery started” on most Zwave devices.

Let me know what the next step would be? I personally think is a bug in the qolsys firmware. Never had this issue until to 4.1. I had this happen few times lately on one or two devices. no big deal remove them and repair and you good but now I have it on all my devices. Not looking forward to remove 40+ z-wave devices.

please see picture bellow panel still showing “discovery started” on most Zwave devices.

Which ones do not show that?

Looks like at least 7 should have responded. ADC shows a new rediscovery date for all the devices, but it looks like there was a successful response for 7 before the rediscovery failed.

Can you confirm all the node IDs for the devices that completed rediscovery according to the panel? That might help identify what is going on.

Backup run. Correct, we are closed on the 4th for the holiday. Back 7/5 as normal.

@jwcsurety.

I’m not home but that sounds about right. 7 are completed with discovery and the remining are all suck in rediscovery mode. Once on the pictures I have in that post for sure are still showing in rediscovery if you need some nodes #,that picture was send to me by son this morning after you send rediscovery signal. I did try to call him again to confirm exact # of the nodes but he is not home.

What time are you there until today? what time zone are you in? Is there maybe a way to send you message tomorrow or later tonight if I have to do a panel swap?

Thank you
Adam

Backup restoral process would need to take place during business hours. 5:30 EST.

Keep in mind backups cannot save and transfer Z-wave data. All Z-wave devices would need to be relearned into the new panel. The backup would just be sensor programming, users, and panel settings.

Yes I know. But if I have to delete and re add all z-wave devices then I rather do it on the new panel.
