Is it possible to get the IQ4(with a 345mhz daughter card) to work with the 2gig encrypted devices like the FF1e smoke/co2 sensor? I really am looking for a solution to use the existing hardwired smoke/co2 combo units in my house to work with the IQ4 panel. I don’t currently have the 345mhz card but was going to buy that with the 2gig sensor if this was a possible solution. If this isn’t does anybody have a good solution besides doubling up smokes and co2 units since I can’t find combination ones that work with iq4.
No. E-series encrypted 2GIG sensors do not work with the 345Mhz version of the IQ Panel 4.
The regular unencrypted version of the firefighter would work, however. Here it is:
But you mention you don’t have the 345Mhz card. You can only use one legacy radio card in the panel. If you already have the 319.5Mhz version, you can just use the 319.5Mhz version of the Firefighter, below.
Thank you so much for the quick response! So I’ll go with the smoke sensors(that was my fallback already). Is there anything in the market for a plug in c02 that works with IQ4?
Thanks again!
Sorry I was traveling all week and just getting back to this. I am now confused slightly. I got home and am confused on what daughter card frequency I have(if any). When I go to settings, advanced settings, system test, daughter board I only see Z-Wave and PowerG. Does this mean I don’t have either 319 or 345?
Yeah that’s the PowerG-only model. I’m not sure but you still may be able to add a 345 MHz or 319.5 MHz daughter card to it. Is “slot 3” available on your hub?
Are you suggesting to see physically if slot 3 is available or through the GUI? GUI states only two cards(see attachment). I can pull the unit off the wall and check if that’s what you’re suggesting, just let me know.
That’s up to you. I just think I’ve heard that you can add the card to the IQ Hub. But not sure. I don’t have a Hub. Maybe check with support before ordering.
I pulled the unit off and it has a spare spot labeled “Slot 3” and the documentation on qolsys website states that it’s compatible so I will give it a try.
