I press the arm, or silent arm button on the touch screen. I get an alert on my phone in the alarm.com app that the system is armed. The screen does not change to show that it is armed.
I can arm the system from the alarm.com app. The IQ4 screen does not show that the system is armed. When I enter a door, the panel beeps as though the system is not armed even though it is through alarm.com.
It seems as though the panel is not updating status to/from alarm.com.
I have rebooted the IQ4 multiple times and it has not changed behavior. I have cleaned the screen to ensure that it isn’t missing touches. Every other menu works.
This is a new development. I have had this panel and service for 4 years. I am on the latest firmware update and have been for since February.
Looking here, it appears that the panel is communicating with Alarm.com, acknowledging commands being sent, and sending signals when it has been armed or disarmed.
When did this issue start occurring?
Does this happen every time you try to arm the system, or is it happening intermittently?
Was there anything that had changed recently when it started?
If you haven’t already, I recommend performing a full power cycle on the system.
To do so:
Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Enter Dealer/Installer/Master User Code > Power Down to turn off the Qolsys panel.
Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet
Open the panel and disconnect the internal battery.
Leave the panel powered down for at least 10 minutes.
Plug the battery back in, close up the panel, and reconnect the power supply
Press the button on the side of the panel for about 2 seconds to turn it back on.
Once the panel has rebooted, wait about 5 minutes, then see if the issue persists.
If you swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Settings > Advanced Settings > About > Software, what is the software version that the system is showing? On our end, it shows the system on version 4.5.1. The latest firmware for the IQ Panel 4 is version 4.5.2.
You’ll need to enter the patch tag iqpanel4.5.2 to update to the latest firmware. Steps for updating to 4.5.2 can be found here:
Thank you for the detailed reply. I was able to resolve the issue. The issue could have started a day or 2 ago because we primarily use the app and not the panel. I started this thread after I noticed it.
When the problem was happening, I could see the communication in alarm.com and the app. The panel was not updating to show the actual status.
Arming from the panel: On arming page, press button to start arming process, the popup appears with stay or away options. Press either option. The panel does nothing, the options stay on screen even after tapping one. The alarm.com app changes to show as either stay or away. The panel screen never updates.
Arming from alarm.com app: On arming screen, press to arm, choose either stay or away. App shows status as either stay or away. Panel does not register any change.
After either process, in an armed stay or away state, I can open doors and the panel will allow it because it does not know that it should be armed.
I rebooted the panel multiple times without change.
When I sent the message, I checked the auto updater and it said I was on the latest version. I forgot that it does not show the actual latest version and you have to manually type in the version. I was on 4.4.1 when the problems started.
I updated to 4.4.2 and the problem continued.
I updated to 4.5.1 and the problem stopped.
I updated to 4.5.2 and the problem did not return.
This issue is resolved. I assume the update fixed it.
