If I am buying a new IQ4 panel, which is better? 319.5 vs 345Mhz?
I don’t have any previous legacy devices, but I also don’t want to splurge on all PowerG products. Which of the two frequencies offers more selection of accessories at a lower cost? And where is best to buy these accessories?
Thank you.
I’d go with the 319.5 version because it supports S-Line encrypted sensors which are low cost and encrypted. The 345 MHz sensors aren’t encrypted.
Hello,
The difference is in what existing sensors it is compatible with. 319.5, 345, or 433. You can view sensor compatibility for each panel version at this link from Qolsys for comparison.
All have PowerG which provides the strongest signal strength, and 319Mhz is the standard version compatible with Qolsys IQ sensors. The other two are for users with existing 2GIG/Honeywell or DSC 433 systems, respectively, so that they can reuse existing sensors.

From what I’ve seen, 2GIG 345 MHz sensors are slightly lower cost than Qolsys 319.5 MHz S-Line sensors. But the difference is very little. Personally, I’d pay an extra $2 or $3 for encrypted S-Line sensors because they prevent replay attacks. Also keep in mind the 345 MHz IQ Panel 4 is slightly more expensive than the standard 319.5 MHz IQ Panel 4.
The best bet for finding good prices would be a search engine search to compare between online stores.
