Iq wifi 6 vpn

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the IQ WIFI 6 and VPN option. In the manual it says under “Services” there should be VPN. I purchased this to integrate but also because it said it have VPN. I have mine all configured but that VPN option isn’t there. I attempted to call Qolsys but nothing and no answer. Didnt know if anyone here could help or provide a contact number.

I’m not showing VPN as an option in documentation (dont have a WIFI 6 to test). What options do you show under services and on what page of your manual does it show VPN as an option?

Qolsys contact information is found on their website. Tech support does not typically speak with end users, only dealers.

Tyler here is the link to their installation manual.

If you look on page 32 of 56 you will see OPENVPN listed under services. Also if you look on page 35 of 56 Item F it even tells what that option is for. The version on the main page states 2.0.0 and is the most up to date documentation on their site.

Per my router I am running 2.0.0 rc28 that looks to be released on 20220830. I have all the other options just not the OPENVPN which is the reason I really purchased this in addition to being able to control from my app/panel.

If Qolsys Tech Support only speaks to dealers how does one go about getting an answer for this?

Thanks for your help.

I am happy to reach out to them to see if this is an available option and what needs to be done. I will follow up here when I hear back.

Much appreciated Tyler. Thank you for working as the middle man.

Still waiting on additional information but it appears the feature is not intended for use at this time. Still waiting for confirmation on whether or not the feature will be available (via future firmware etc.).

Thank you. I really hope it is coming quick since they have it in documentation. I noticed they do call out other stuff as not used or coming soon or future use. Hopefully they have a new firmware that activates this.

I did hear back after hours and unfortunately, there is no ETA on if/when the openVPN option would become available.

Thank Tyler. Guess they didn’t say why they would put it in documentation if it was or possibly isn’t going to be used. Sort of stinks because it is misleading

I’m not sure if it was intended to be in the documentation or not. Is it mentioned on the packaging as well, or just internal documentation?

Just documentation. Package is very limited on anything it has.
