IQ Tilt S Reliability (QS1131-840)

Have others used this sensor (QS1131-840) with IQ 5 (or other IQ) on a garage door and run into any issues with it sensing reliably? When simulating the motion by hand it didn’t respond much to tilting. It does register open and closed once it was temporarily mounted on the garage door for testing, but does take 5 seconds to register, which is pretty long. The panel is located near the garage and signal strength is not an issue.

Have others experienced the same issue (lagging or no response)?

I found it extremely unreliable as well. Tossed it in the garbage and installed a proper rolling door contact.

I thought it was just me. I have a handful of these that I’ve used in ‘lab’ testing for various scenarios (rather than full-time real-life use) and I could not get them to be accurate or consistent. I thought it was because they were used from ebay, but maybe not.

Typically we recommend that if you are going to use the tilt to use it for notification only.

Is the delay occurring after the door is fully opened/closed?
