I’m having trouble with a low battery warning on my IQ Remote PowerG Secondary Touchscreen, which is just over two years old. The power supply is confirmed to be working. I checked Surety’s product listings but couldn’t find the specific battery. Is it available? The installation manual specifies the battery type as Lithium Polymer 2600mAh from Guangzhou Great Power Energy & Technology Co., Ltd., model ICR 18650. Is this battery a button-top cell, or does it come with an integrated cable and connector?
Button top. I replaced mine recently. Original didn’t last long.
Qolsys part number QR0119-840 for the 3.7V 10Wh 3000mAh battery. Unfortunately, we do not have the battery available currently but you should be able to find it from other vendors online.
I bought these, but it’s not any sort of endorsement.
Thank you @tyler
Thank you @pounce.
FWIW - I just ordered these and am going to see whether these work. Amazon.com (also not an endorsement). Will update this thread once I test them out.
Quick update for anyone considering a battery replacement on their IQ Remote: I went with a third-party cell instead of the OEM part, a Benkia 3600 mAh 3.7V rechargeable Li-ion off Amazon.
Easy swap: disconnected AC, shut down through the software menu, pulled it off the wall, unplugged the barrel power plug, removed the battery cover with a tiny screwdriver, swapped in the Benkia, and reassembled.
It shipped at 85% and the Remote Panel recognized it immediately showed charging, and it was up to 92% a few minutes later. Will report back on long-term performance, but the install couldn’t have been simpler. Hopefully it holds up!
