IQ Remote PG Weather

I have the IQ Remote PG which I use as a secondary panel. I’ve chosen to link it to the main panel via PowerG (rather than WiFi) as I want it to be more reliable than my wifi network (and continue to function in a power outage).

I noticed that after setting it up with PowerG, I was also able to configure it to connect to my WiFi network. Since doing so, it displays weather information, but the location seems wrong.

Is there anyway to have the remote connect to the main panel with PowerG, but still have it display local weather information after also connecting it to WiFi

Hello,

From the manufacturer, weather is available during WiFi enrollment, which is why it was encountered during this time.

Weather information is pulled from the zipcode on the account through Alarm.com. I have confirmed the zipcode for the panel programming matches the one on file.

From previous discussions, with Firmware 4.4.1 there has been some troubles with weather that have been noted.

Your panel is currently running firmware version 4.4.1. The latest available firmware is version 4.5.1, released August 2024. You can refer to the Surety Support Forum linked here for a guide on updating your panel. This will ensure the panel is utilizing the most efficient communication methods and eliminates any known issues.

Thanks for this, will do it now. To help me understand, why would I need to be enter the patch tag rather than a normal update check. Does this mean this software isn’t fully released?

Its fully released, Qolsys does not provide every firmware as an automatic download, Some versions will require a patch tag to access. It is recommended to follow the linked thread for future updates.
