I had Qolsys remotes on a multi-partition system running 4.5.2 and everything worked fine. After upgrading to 4.6.1, the panel camera stopped working (similar to another post I found, like Panel Camera not Working ), but I was able to fix that a different way.
Now I’m running into a new issue: the IQ Remotes no longer broadcast the chime or open/close announcements.
If I arm or disarm the system, I still hear the confirmation tones.
The voice feature itself is working (e.g., if I enter the installer menu on the IQ Remote, it prompts for “enter user code”).
This only started after the upgrade — prior to 4.6.1 the IQR PG remotes worked normally.
Has anyone else run into this after updating? Any thoughts on why the upgrade might have disabled chimes/announcements on the remotes, or how to re-enable them? I’ve tried everything I can think of including multiple panel reboots.
Hi @Vidail - those instructions didn’t fix it, but wanted to give you a report:
Deleted Keypad/IQ Remote from main panel
Restarted main panel
Master reset on IQ remote
Autolearn with PowerG on main panel to add keypad (clicked pair PowerG on IQ remote)
The IQ remote added again successfully. Then, it seems like master reset saves your wifi credentials? The remote connected back to Wifi automatically. I checked the software version and it was 4.6.1. Then, weirdly it had a message that there was a software patch available. It started installing it.
After the install, the IQ remote was still on 4.6.1 and the chimes/voice notifications were still not working.
Not sure if it’s relevant, but I have a few partitions and the IQ remotes were having the same issue on every partition.
However, I experimented a bit more with the sensors and turned each sensor voice OFF, Save, then ON, and Save. That FIXED it! It was a pain to do this for each sensor, but it took care of the issue. Of note, it had to be done for each sensor.
Hopefully you can relay this info to Qolsys and they can fix it for other users, but this did restore the sounds/chimes.

Thank you for the description, this may help other users. We will let Qolsys know to hopefully address this possible issue in a future update.
