Hello, I purchased a number of the IQ QS5536-840 detectors based on the photo, which appears as though the “bug” should work with baseboard with quarter round, however, the bug recevied is meant for a vertical wall and wouldn’t really work with baseboard with the extra quarter round trim, so I’m looking for a path forward for flood sensors in this scenario. Do some of the QS5536-840s come with a curved bug, or can those be obtained? If not, what is the suggestion for this? I see the PG9986 is a water tile which would work, but not sure if there are potentially other options that might work?
The probe rests or mounts to the floor or can be mounted to a wall
or baseboard. Are you attempting to place the probe directly on the quarter-round?
I’m not showing an alternate probe available from Qolsys for the IQ Flood-S QS5536-840, nor are there different versions of the QS5536-840 available they would all come with the same probe.
The panel on file works with 319.5MHz and PowerG sensors.
Regarding PowerG, you have the new PGP9986 water tile, you have the older PG9985 which uses a probe. I believe that unit has been discontinued but you may still be able to find it.
Regarding 319.5MHz, the only Qolsys device is the QS5536-840. There is an ELK brand ELK319WA flood sensor as well.
All of my floor is tile or hardwood, so not really able to screw it into the floor, and because of the curve of the quarter round at the floor, I can’t easily attach it to that either.
So basically, it sounds like the PG9986 tile might be the best option? Unless you are aware, or have any ideas of alternative options?
The probe received appears to be a running change from Qolsys, it is the same on their website. Looks like the curved probe in the image is no longer packed with the IQ Flood.
I am not showing any related orders from Surety for that device however. Do you have a Surety order number for that device?
