I’ll be installing the IQ panel here in a couple of weeks.

Do alarm panels need to go on the main WiFi network or on IoT network?

The IQ Panel 4 can be on IoT network. As long as it has access to the internet without any firewalls blocking any information being sent to alarm.com servers.

The IQ Panel 4 uses Cellular as the main form of communication and uses the Wi-Fi as a back up and is needed for any firmware updates performed on the panel.
