This how to explains how to add a keyswitch to your security system to be able to arm and disarm your security panel using a trigger from a third application such as a card access system, home automation system, or an old style keyswitch.
Requirements:
- IQ Panel with version 4.5.0 or higher
- A hardwired zone either from an Input on a wireless zone or from a wireless device with a zone input
Programming Keyswitch:
Swipe down from main screen > Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer(Default1111)/Dealer(default2222) > Installation > Devices > Security Sensors > You can either learn in a sensor or edit an existing sensor
Note: Sensor input must first be changed to something else from Reed Switch to get Key Fob option under sensor type
Sensor Type = Key fob
Sensor Input = As Needed
Keyswitch Operation = As Needed
Key Fob Operation | Description |
---|---|
Maintained Instant | The system/partition changes arm/disarm state based on the state of the zone. The system/partition will arm when the zone is violated and disarm when the zone is restored. This operation will not provide an exit delay when arming. |

Conditional Arm: If an Entry-Exit Delay zone is opened and closed during the exit delay, the system/partition will arm in the Away mode. If an Entry-Exit Delay zone is not opened and closed during the exit delay, the system/partition will arm in the Stay mode.
Note: If the Entry-Exit Delay zone is open prior to arming the system/partition (and left open) the system will arm in the Stay mode. This is different from the way the keypad arming affects the system.
Note: The Force Arm option will affect how the panel responds to the zone once the system/partition is armed.
- Force arm option can be enabled/disabled by swiping down from the main screen > Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer/Dealer Code > Installation > Security & Arming > Scroll down to force arm to enable/disable
