IQ Panel 4 - false fire alarm w/ no sensors

Now that I think about it, maybe the panel wasn’t alarming at all… I was in such a fog getting woke up from a nap. I’m wondering if the smokes went off, stopped alarming and then went off a second time. Not a Surety/IQ Panel issue, but what on earth would cause them.

With no smoke or heat detectors connected to your system, the only way to trigger a fire alarm is by the panic buttons on the panel screen.

If your home smoke detectors were sounding, those would be unrelated to the alarm panel.

I wasn’t even sure how to get the alarm to stop since the system wasn’t armed.

If you have an alarm on the IQ panel, you will see a red screen with the keypad for input. It will show “Alarm” on screen.

From your description, there was no alarm on the IQ Panel.

For false alarms from your unconnected smoke detectors, common general smoke detector false alarm hazards are described in the guide below, which apply broadly.
